Surmaye derives its essence from the word "surma," which refers to the timeless beauty of kohl, embodying the concept of enhancing one's inherent beauty through an effortless ritual.

With a fusion of simplicity and sophistication, Surmaye illuminates both you and the traditional artistry of India, casting them in a new light.

Collaborating intimately with seasoned artisans across the handloom industry in India, we curate textile journeys that transcend the ordinary. We orchestrate an intricate interplay of diverse yarns, colors and an array of weaves to capture your attention. With this, we hope to evoke a pause that allows you to savor life's exquisite moments, much like when one stops to smell the roses.

We work directly with artisans from across the country to produce ethical and intricate textiles that are true to their craftsmanship. With our designs and reach, we hope to provide the weavers we work with, a larger market and a safe space within the industry to practice their craft.
